طبعات باللغة العربية واللغة البلغاريّة. وهذه المجموعة قد صدرت في العاصمة الأردنية عمان عن دار أمواج للطباعة والنشر والتوزيع،وهي تقع في 177 صفحة من القطع المتوسطّ،وتتكوّن من 16 قصة قصيرة،وهي ،وهي تعرض بجرأة تنميطات مختلفة للحبّ وأشكال متعدّدة للحالة الشّعوريّة والسّلوكيّة المرافقة له، وتتجلّى هذه التنميطات في ثنائيات جدلية : كالوصل والحرمان، واللقاء والفراق، والتقارب والتباعد ،و الرضا والغضب، الحزن والسعادة، ويستولي في هذه المجموعات على حيز كبير من المفارقات والتجاوزات الواقعية. فقصص المجموعة تدين بالكثير لاستيلاد مفردات التراث والفنتازيا والخرافات والأساطير. فنجد تراث الوأد حاضرًا في القصة، كذلك خرافات الكنوز الموقوفة لرصد خرافي، وفنتازيا مشاركة الجمادات في الأحداث ، فنجد القراءة واللعبة البلاستيكية والأرواح الراحلة عن أجساد أصحابها والقطط البيتية الأليفة والجنّيات تعشق،وتكون لها تجربتها الخاصة مع الحبّ ، الذي يقدّم في هذه المجموعة على أنّه بديلٌ موضوعي للسعادة والهناء والسلام. والقصص تجنح إلى طرح الحزن والفراق والهزيمة والفشل قرينًا شبه دائم للحبّ ، وكأنّه تجسيد للواقع الحياتي المهزوم والمسحوق الذي يعيشه أبطال القصص ، وتبقى القصص مفتوحة على التأويل والتجير والتفسير،فهل الحبّ هو علاقة خاصة لها محدّداتها الخاصة ؟ أم هو صورة اجتماعية من صور المجتمع بكلّ ما في مشهده الإنساني من أحلام وأماني وتناقضات وأحزان وانكسارات ؟أم هو بحث عن صيغة جديدة للبحث عن الفردوس المفقود في هذه الحياة ؟ وقد قال الأديب عدنان قصير مترجم هذه المجموعة إلى الإنجليزيّة :" إنّها مجموعة تنتصر للحبّ والخير والجمال،ولذلك صممت أن أنقلها إلى قرّاء العالم ولا سيما إلى الشّعب الاسترالي الذي أحبّه،ويسعدني أن أهديه هذا الجمال والدفء الموجود في هذه المجموعة القصصيّة الراقية الجميلة التي بذلت الكثير من الجهد والوقت كي أترجمها إلى الإنجليزية لا سيما أنّ ترجمتها ليست بالأمر السّهل نظراً لجزالة لغة الشّعلان وصعوبة الارتقاء إليها،ونقلها إلى الانجليزية دون الانتقاص من جمالها وقوتها وسحرها". التعريف بالانجليزي: “The Convoy of Thirst” in English. This story collection was published previously in Arabic under the title "قافلة العطش" in 2006, it was published also in Bulgarian under the title Керванът на" "жаждата in 2013. The stories were translated into English by the Australian educator of Arabic background Mr. Adnan Kassir who said that he is proud of his partnership with novelist Sanaa Shalan by translating these stories into English, noting that he has chosen this collection of stories from Dr. Shalan’s work and translated it into English because he felt that it is loaded with human characteristics and human models which should be presented to all of mankind. It also contains a giant history of love for the Arabs, as love is their greatest trait for humanity. He also noted that these stories attracted his attention for what they contain of human experiences which side with love against all forms of hatred, loathing and estrangement. This collection, in his opinion, is a message of love to all of mankind and it is important to be presented to others by translating it into more than one language so it can be a form of sophisticated answer to the heinous propaganda war currently waged against Islam and Arabism to distort them and strip them of their rich history of civilisation which is a symbol for humanity, performance, love, friendship and acceptance of others. Adnan Kassir concluded his words about the collection by saying: “It is a collection which sides with love, goodness and beauty, and that’s why I decided to translate it to the readers of the world and particularly to the Australian people, which I love. I am pleased to dedicate to them the beauty and the warmth of this elegant and beautiful story collection. I have put a lot of time and effort in order to translate it, especially when it is not an easy task, due to the elegance of Dr. Shalan’s style and the difficulty to match its beauty and literary standard especially when I tried to translate it into English without detracting from its beauty, strength and charm.” The collection is published in the Jordanian Capital Amman by Amwaj Publishers and Distributers. It consists of 177 medium size pages and it contains 16 short stories. It displays boldly various forms of love and the various types of behavioural and emotional states which accompany it. These models are clearly evident in the dialectical binaries such as: connection and deprivation, meeting and parting, closeness and separation, satisfaction and anger, sadness and happiness. This collection contains all lot of paradoxes and realistic excesses. The stories in this collection are tremendously indebted to the production of the vocabularies of the tradition, fantasy, myths and legends. We find the tradition of burying girls alive in the story, as well as the myth of finding treasures which are guarded by mythical guard, and the fantasy of objects participating in events. Some of the stories contain matters of great interest such as the manikin, the souls departing their bodies, and domestic home cats. Others also touch on fairies falling in love and how they share their special experience which is presented in this collection as an objective alternative for happiness, contentment and peace. The stories tend to show that sadness, parting, defeat and failure are semi permanent companions of love. As if it is a personification of the defeated and crushed real life situation which the characters in the stories experience. The stories stay open to interpretation, exegesis and commentary. It asks the question: Is love a special relationship with its special determinants? Or is it a portrait of the social scenes, with its human reality of dreams, wishes, contradictions, sorrow and disappointments? Or is it a search for a new formula trying to find the lost paradise in this life?
