The Theft of the Royal Ruby - a Hercule Poirot Short Story by Agatha Christie..A priceless ruby is stolen from a Far Eastern prince while he is in England. The ruby is intended for the prince's bride-to-be, and Hercule Poirot must find it before a scandal erupts. The UK government would like him to attend a Christmas dinner at the Lacey household in rural England at which the suspected thief will be in attendance. Will Poirot go? Will he overcome his fears of drafts and inadequate plumbing? Most importantly, can he recover the beautiful jewel? This short story was previously published under the title, "The Adventure of the Christmas Pudding." There is also another version available, "Christmas Adventure."
